Terms of Service

Effective date: August 5, 2026

These terms govern your use of this website and your engagement of TerraGuard LLC (“TerraGuard,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) for stump grinding, land clearing, and related services. By using this website, requesting a quote, or engaging us to perform work, you agree to these terms.

About TerraGuard

TerraGuard LLC is a Washington limited liability company registered with the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries as a contractor, registration number TERRAL*741KH. We provide mechanical stump grinding and land clearing services in Clark County, Washington.

Quotes and Estimates

Quotes provided by phone, text, email, or from photographs are estimates based on the information available to us at the time. Final pricing may change if on-site conditions differ materially from what was described or shown — for example, if stump diameter, root spread, access, buried obstructions, or ground conditions differ from the information we were given.

If on-site conditions require a change in scope or price, we will inform you before performing the additional work. You may decline and we will complete only the work as originally quoted, or cancel without charge.

Quotes are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated.

Scheduling and Access

You are responsible for ensuring we have safe, unobstructed access to the work area on the scheduled date, and for confirming that you own the property or are authorized to approve the work.

Before we grind, you are responsible for identifying and disclosing the location of any private underground utilities, irrigation lines, septic systems, drain fields, invisible pet fencing, low-voltage wiring, or other buried obstructions on your property. TerraGuard requests public utility locates through Washington’s 811 service where required, but 811 does not mark privately installed lines. We are not responsible for damage to undisclosed private underground installations.

Weather, equipment issues, and job overruns can affect scheduling. We will notify you as early as practical if a scheduled visit needs to move.

Scope of Work

Unless expressly included in your quote, our work does not include removal of grindings or chips, backfilling with topsoil, reseeding, repair of lawn or landscaping affected by equipment access, removal of surface roots beyond the quoted grind area, or tree removal, trimming, or pruning of any kind.

Stump grinding produces a mound of chips and disturbs the surrounding area. Some lawn impact from equipment tracks is normal and expected.

Payment

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment for residential work is due upon completion. Business and partner accounts may be invoiced on terms stated in your quote or account agreement. Washington state and local sales tax is applied based on the physical location where the work is performed.

Past due balances may be subject to interest at the maximum rate permitted by Washington law, and you agree to pay reasonable costs of collection.

Cancellation

You may cancel or reschedule a job at no charge with reasonable advance notice. If our crew arrives at a scheduled job and cannot perform the work due to lack of access, undisclosed conditions, or cancellation on arrival, a trip charge may apply.

Text Messaging (SMS)

TerraGuard uses text messaging to communicate with customers about quotes, scheduling, job status, and invoicing.

Website Use

The content of this website is provided for general information about our services. Pricing, availability, and service areas may change. Photographs of completed work are examples and do not guarantee identical results on your property, which will vary with species, size, soil, and site conditions.

You may not use this website to submit false information, to interfere with its operation, or for any unlawful purpose.

Insurance and Liability

TerraGuard carries general liability insurance and Washington workers’ compensation coverage. Certificates are available on request.

To the fullest extent permitted by Washington law, our total liability arising from any job is limited to the amount you paid for that job. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of use or loss of property value.

Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under Washington’s contractor registration and bonding statutes, chapter 18.27 RCW.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington. Any dispute arising from these terms or from work performed will be brought in the state courts located in Clark County, Washington.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page indicates when they were last revised. The terms in effect at the time you engage us for a job govern that job.
